Had the chance on Saturday to head up to Cold Creek. I rode and pushed up to the picnic table with my friend Josef. It did get a bit colder after we climbed past the top of the clear cut on the trail, there was still also a tiny bit of snow near the top in a few shady spots. There were a few puddles on the trail and just a couple of spots where it was muddy enough to turn up the pucker factor in the high speed turns. Aside from those minor challenges the rest of the trail was hero dirt. We had the whole trail to ourselves as there were no other cars in the parking lot.
Sunday was spotty with rain so I imagine it may have made the trail a bit more slippery but still prime condition. Get out and get your ride on at Cold Creek, one of the PDX Metro area’s best trails. Its just the right amount of speed, flow, jumps, rock gardens, berms, drops and flat turns. It’s difficult to top in my opinion. I always look forward to the next time I get to ride it. It’s the reason why I purchased and built up my Banshee Spitfire v2 and it is perfect for it! You can demo one at Hi-5 Bikes in Portland if you are curious about one. I recommend them!
